Default Anet & Scammers

I just recently watched a very good friend of mine lose everything to basically what you would still call a scammer.. and in my whole time playing guild wars ive seen it happen again and again... 1 thing tho... why doesnt anet become more strict on scammers and make better trade capabilities to completely prevent scams... it would be easy like make a second trade screen reading off what u have just accepted to.. another thing.. i dont understand how the hell people can sit there and back stab ther best friend they have known for 5 months for pictulated iteams on a video game (you know who im talking about). and another thing about Scammers and the mention of..

I honestly see where you guys are coming from and completely respect that decision to not allow scammers names be posted on this page because it is very easy to try and ruin a persons reputation as maybe pay back or merely because they dont like them.. but i belive you guys should maybe work with anet to prevent scammers on guru.. just like anet should be more strict on guildwars. i didnt pay 50 bucks to play a game and then to just get ripped off 10 months into playing it..and have to start all over.. and i belive everyone agree's with me on that 1. half the scamers i have ment in my time playing honestly think a 2-3 weeks bann is worth the 5-10mil they scam and thats per scam before they get banned. but its w/e just like you guys said u dont have a say in this and niether do i....

i no im most likely going to get a bann for this thread... and its most likely going to get closed but i just ask that you let people read it before its done with i think everyone should atleast have a say before so.

thread shouldn't be here, but my 2 cents...u deserve it if u get scammed...the trading window is enough of a scam protection. u know exactly what's going in, and what's going out (unless you're too stupid to check when the scammer closes and switches item or cash amount). don't get me wrong, i absolutely despise dishonest traders and how they've ruined our creative trading ideas (ex. running), but keep tabs on your own shit. If it can't be taken care of in the window, Anet didn't design the sale/trade to take place and it's not their fault. DEAL WITH IT.

And it would take Anet 10 minutes to code in an extra digit space in the trade window and storage ...

even if you have known someone on guild wars for months doesn't mean they wont get greedy, I never trust anyone with my gold, and I look at what is being traded before I hit accept, it is quite easy to avoid scams, just need to be smart about it. I think scammers do ruin the gaming experience but that's life, there is always going to be the greedy people in rl and ig just try to stay away from them, it is just virtual gold after all...

thers alot more ways to scam than the trade window.. but it would narrow down alot of them. like say maroni ur best friend was helpig you transfer iteams to your other account.. and he didnt trade them back.. like say everything you made in this game.. would the best response from Arena net after getting your report be "Deal with it"?..i think your response would differ from that when experiancing it yourself

if you dont have anything valuable there is nothing you can lose:d just dont spend a penny at any items. use only items from collectors..like me only using collector's itmes good and cheap!nothing better than collector's and customize all the itmes on you .they can scam the customized items from you and also your armor:0 i pretty much only spend money on my fissure set now.

It would take you an extra 1 second to double check the trade window and make sure you're buying the right thing.

I am going to try to get my hands around what is being suggested here, and kind of write it back out in the terms that I think would be understood by myself and people that have the same small brain capacity as me.

Letter:

Anet-
Over the past 12 months of great gaming experience, we have found a serious flaw in your game and some of its players. These select "players" are here to enjoy the game, but at some one else's expense. We call these select "players", scammers. Obviously you know what the term implies. The problem seems to be that people cannot place the things they need to place in the trade window. For example, only being able to trade 100k at a time, only having 7 slots with which to trade items, etc. Everyone in the GW community knows that the inflation of this game is real and will continue to inflate as new things come out. So, with the growing inflation that we have to adjust to, why can't you adjust with us? A valid question that deserves a validated answer.

Solution-
Change the amount of money that can be traded in one transcation process. Also, change the amount of slots in the trade window to 10 or more (you have no idea how much 3 or slots would help).

I know that there would be re-coding involved, but it is to satisfy the people that are keeping you in business. Do not mistake me, I am trying very much to be sincere an genuine. I just want you to understand that we want to have the gaming experience that we have paid for. You all of have done a great job thus far, why disappoint us now?

Thank you very much for your time and hope to see some improvements down the road.

Sincerely,

Imperfection

A discussion thread is more suited to the discussion forum, so it was moved here. It's not going to get anyone banned unless people start pointing fingers.

You missed the point ... on purpose would be my guess. I have not been scammed IE I do check the trade windows. The point is Anet could help MANY of us that deal in high end trades by just encoding another digit. Why should we have to hang onto 2000 ecto ... when the ecto price hiccups we lose a couple of million dollars or more.

Leprekan, you are so damn right. Why should we lose millions because we have to hold some trading collateral? The market takes a hiccup and there goes your client base for this game. Throw in that extra digit and the complaints will go away. Plain and simple.

You are easy scammable, when you:
  • Are looking for a short cut to the end of the game.
  • Looking for 1337 items, for cheap.
  • Don't play the game, but simply tag along with others.
  • You are a minor, who does things unsupervised.
  • Play the game for hours, without taking a brake.
  • When you rush through actions and quests.
  • When you think that trust will get you far in this game.
  • When you smoke dope or drink alcohol while playing.
  • When you tell about your private live, just because someone is nice to you, is a leader of your guild or you know that person for a week.
  • You brag about how much ectos or gold you have.

If one of these points fit you, than you are a prime target for every scammer in the game.
